Jamerson - What Christmas Means to Me

Hi,

Now that Thanksgiving has passed, it's Christmas time now. I'm looking for any transcription of Jamerson on Stevie Wonder's "What Christmas Means to Me". It's a fun song. I know the basic riff, but I would like the whole Jamerson version. I didn't see it in SITSOM.

Thanks, Woodstock.

Thanks for replying. I will try your version.
I have been playing the main riff like this:

Chords
---C-----------F
G|-------------------------
D|-------------------------
A|---7--[10]-88-8---------
E|-8---------------6-7-8---

-------------------^
_______________Rake

Then the chorus goes to Dm and G.

It sounds pretty close to me. playing it close to the bridge is easier because the frets are closer together. I have to rake two notes in order to keep up.

But I'm trying to get more of Jamersons stuff to make it sound better, and not just the main riff. Half way through the song, he does some interesting things in his signature style.

Original Jamerson 1967 version:

Stevie really rocks the house with this version:

Thanks,
Woodstock

Classic riff. Last two notes are A (open) and B-natural:

G|--------------------|
D|----2--5-3-3--3-----|
A|3---------------0-2-|
E|--------------------|

Yes, it is B-natural. Sounds right. Now to figure out the rest of the song. Jamerson starts cookin' when Stevie sings "I feel like running wild".

Frizzle, Thanks a million for that link. I will check it out. I have a year to master it.

Thanks again.
