ok dont make fun of me, and yes, this is the theme song of national lampoon's vacation with chevy chase!

i can find the chords for this song, but i cant seem to figure out this great walking pattern that lindsey (an extremely talented bass player) is playing!!

its a walking line for the verse that goes C-G/B-C throughout the song. give it a listen and help me figure this out!!

holiday road, fun song, great bassline. really.
thanks for any info!!

I'll admit it, I do dig that song! I remember being about 12 years old going, "cool tune" when that movie came out. (yes I did see it that young!)

I wouldn't, that's a great tune! I love that wacky fingerstyle guitar thing of Lindsey's.

I love the bassline in this song. I was looking up the bassist for the song. I did not know that Lindsey plays bass. He is indeed a talented/gifted musician.

The bassline actually sounds similar to some old basslines I have heard in some black baptist/pentecostal style churches. Especially when he walks it up and does a two/three step downward move. However, I think that the line for Holiday Road is all Lindsey. What can I say? Lindsey is the man.

Yippee!!!!!!!! I love Lindsey and those wonderful fingers of his.

Ok, i'm in The Grizwalds, ha ha, so here's what i play. Not sure if it's 100% correct, but since it's tab, what do you expect? :-}

It is fun to play, we have five vocals in my band, and they really do the song justice. Don't forget to swing it a little bit.
