Hey, I know there will be 100s of threads on talkbass, asking for some good, easy songs to learn.. The only thing is that I'm not bothered about the difficulty of them :P (just nothing insane please :P)
What I'm looking for are any songs out there that non-bass players like to hear. I'm living with some guitar players, and I'd just like to try and impress them with something that isn't too 'standard' and punky.. I'd just like to encourage everyone to play together more.
(There's a lot of musical diversity between us... between 4 people, there are electric and accoustic gutairs, tin whistles, a cornet, a ukulele, and my basses + one guy has a friend who plays violin... we could have a lot of fun xD everyone's up for it, and we did cosmo canyon from FF7 the other day... but idk.. I feel like the most skilled player feels like he has to hold back on the difficulty. I just want him to realise that I've been playing for 2 years or so.. and can do a fair bit.. so I'll be up for putting some work into it if I have to.)
The kind of thing I'm looking for would be stuff like 'Seek and Destroy' by Metallica (sounds especially good when I throw in some triplets)... something preferably metal, something that is pretty interesting to listen to, and something which isn't beginner... but also, something which isn't crazy xD
What kind of thing would you guys suggest? I'm not looking for stuff that's hard.. and I'm not looking for stuff that's easy.. just stuff which sounds good.
