don't be knocking freeman he may not be jaco, wooten, claypool, or getty, but his skills are just as good if not better. his style is his own. Matt Freeman is a beast on a 4 string!!!!

Maybe try learning one of his easier basslines first? He has some pretty grooving stuff that isnt so fast. Check this song out...

Ha, I read this completely wrong. I thought you just wanted the main part and 'were no where near getting the solo' (as in not ready to try and learn it). I was in a band where we covered this song once, but we always skipped the solo (I was no where near being able to play it then).
I may try it though, it's always fun to go back and try to learn the things you thought were impossible to play when you first started playing bass. I'm not so sure I could play it now either though.
I remember the first week I started playing bass I wanted to learn the Reel Big Fish song Beer, but I just physically couldn't do it. Now I tend to break it out as my warm up song when I first start practicing.
