| | | | Hey Joe Here is tab a like but I dont like it so much... http://www.bassmasta.net/h/hendrix,_jimi/142637.html
I play it by walking up 4 notes (open A, B, B#, C to begin with) to each of C, G, D, A then riffing on the E

Re: Hey Joe, the tab posted is mostly right, but with that song you can get a little wild at the end of the progression as the song gets more hectic near the end. I sometimes play the little lick after you hit the E an octave up. Hey Joe is definitely a song you can spice up rhythmically between the chord tones.
The first note in the walk is the C, then chromatically up to the G, then up to the D, then the A, then the E. If you're walking up to the C, you're not playing it correctly. That part is supposed to double the guitar and drums. Sounds pretty crappy if you don't.
(Oh, and you had your B/B# mixed up Fishhed, it's A Bb B C, B# is the same pitch as C.)

| | | | Sorry about the mix up Sorry you are right - thats what I get for writing it from memory instead of playing it once. So it should be
Root:C, then walk up E, F, F#, Root: G - B, C, C#, Root etc.
Thanks.
:-)

(Oh, and you had your B/B# mixed up Fishhed, it's A Bb B C, B# is the same pitch as C.) | Think you for your input. I’m sure it will help me.
Depressing? Probably. I’ve been playing 8 months, with no musical background at all.
I am a pediatric surgeon, hence, I don’t have time to learn all the songs I would like to. My group plays for the children we care for. They don’t really care if I’m good, they just want to feel normal and forget they are in the hospital for a little while. I want to play songs I like as well.
I don’t have time nor a trained ear, hence my posting. I didn’t realize I would be ridiculed for being a beginner who needs help. |

I don't mean to offend people who use them, I'm completely confused on to play them quickly and find the timing.

If you don't care about spending money on software, I'd recommend guitarpro. It shows you tablature and sheet music at the same time as playing the corresponding audio part, which can help improve your reading ability and sense of pitch at the same time.

The beginning is wrong and there are a few wrong notes, but it's easy to fix. And being that you don't have much time, I think GuitarPro will help you learn it quicker.
Give me a little time and I will fix it and send you a link.

Sorry, but regardless of the cause, it is a little upsetting seeing people take the "easy way out" with music so often. It's one of the reasons modern pop music has gotten so crappy. (Cursed autotune).
Good luck.
