Oops Mr. Bungle "Dead Goon"

Sign in to disble this ad
I inquired previously about finding tab of the Bass run for the Mr. Bungle song "Love is a Fist".

I was actually looking for the Bass run on the Song "Dead Goon".

Has anyone tabbed or written in sheet music the Bass run on "Dead Goon".

I'm sure anyone that knows the tune knows which one I'm talking about.

Thanks....

According to my old bass teacher, this is the one of the hardest songs written for bass, EVER.

Rhythmically its fairly straightforward although fast (Not sure what the tempo is).

I think some of the finger motions are counter intuitive.

Personally I think the rhythm in Spain is a bit more difficult to pull off especially since its cut time tempo of around 137BPM makes it seem like its closer to 274BPM with tons of syncopation.

And Stanley Clarke plays that one on an upright!!!

The repetition and counterintuitive finger parts, plus the quick tempo, make the song a real beast. It's the second hardest song I've ever attempted, but then again I'm not very good.
Anyway, good luck

Yah My fingers aren't having a very easy time with it even at moderate tempos, but I think I'll get there.

Practice slowly and get clear on exactly what fingers are going where and why. Once this becomes almost natural I think it'll be fairly achievable from there. Mind you I'm finding it pretty tricky too.
