RHCP - Dani California intro part

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,

Could someone please explain the intro part of this song ? The first part with 5h7p5 on D string is pretty obvious, but the ending of second...I just can't figure it out easily. For example, in this vid (pretty precise IMO) what's going on between 0:15 - 0:17 ?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfcBXx2J_Vw

Thanks

yes, I've looked over many different tabs and vids covering this song, and this one is by far the best I've seen + the part I'm trying to figure out really 'fits'..

That might be what the guy on the video is playing but Flea is actually hitting an open A in between as he walks up the pentatonic scale.

It's more like this

--------------------------7-7----------------------
-----7--------5--3---------------------------------
---------------------5-5------0-0-3-0-5-0-7-------
-5-5---5-3-3--------------------------------8-----

The third A on the E string and the last D on the G string are really just passing notes.
