Does anyone have the tab or sheet music for Santana's Stone Flower. Even just the bass tab would be good.

Question

Great tune from Caravanserai! Almost impossible to find unless you know Carlos personally. He lives across the Bay from me and I don't know if he'll answer when I knock at his door? BTW, it would have to exist somewhere but in standard notation because it's played on an upright. Perhaps the double-bass forum might know? Greetings from the EastBay in California.

That's pretty much where I am right now. There are some tough passages in that song...... and hard to pick out.
That tune just floors me...actually the whole album does!

Órale Shovelbone!
You're da Man! You are tackling one of Santana's best Bass player's line's, Doug Rauch. Just keep movin' ahead, and if you've got a Tascam or Korg bass trainer...SLOWWW it down, and hit it part by part. You're on you're way!

I love Rauch as much as everybody but "Stoneflower" was played by Tom Rutley. The whole B-side of "Caravanserai" features only Rutley on double bass.

Stone Flower was actually written by Antonio (TOM) Carlos Jobim - the famous Brazilian Bossa Nova composer and musician - it featured on his 1970 Van Gelder recording on CTI.

The sheet music for this album is readily available and I bought this, to play in a Latin band!
