I'm not sure if this goes here, but I wanted to make a thread where we could share some of our own riffs, songs or whatnot. Here are a couple I made up in the first few months I was playing. Simple but fun.

#1 - This one is played fast. The slides at the second variation are with keeping both fingers on their respective frets and letting the notes ring out.

-----------------------------------5---------
---------------------------------6---8-6-----
----------45--------45--------67-7-7-7-7----
0000003h5--00003h5--00005h7---------------

-----------------------------------5-8-6-\4\-3---------
---------------------------------6--7-7-7\-5\-454\2----
----------45--------45--------67-7---------------------
0000003h5--00003h5--00005h7--------------------------

#2 - This one has a triplet sort of feel to it and is again played at a higher tempo. The 3 at the end of the first riff is held out for a bit.

---------------------------
---------------------------
---875----------875-------
505---777444505---777\3-- (Play twice)

--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------2-----------------------
-----------------333555333-------111-323------------111/3---
555555555555666----------000000----------222222333-------- (Play twice)

Hope these are understandable, it's my first time tabbing something out.

Sorry dude, but tabs of songs that no one has ever heard other than yourself... kind of pointless. Tabs are non rhythmic, and triplet feel doesn't help all that much. If I tried to play those songs from your tab, it would sound nothing like your riff.

If you're going to post tabs you need to use a fixed width font.

I dunno, these are pretty simple. It just gives people something to play around with. It doesn't have to sound exactly like mine. I'd record myself playing it but all I'd hear is people complaining about my bass being out of tune. Why not just try them out for something new to fool around with?

This should solve the font problem.

I'll try that out Mikey. I have a question though, what's a dead note? I've seen them on tabs before and never knew.

I'll try to get some recordings of the ones I posted, but like I said you guys are going to find my tuning and fretting (I play a fretless) absolutely atrocious.

I nearly fell outta my chair after seeing that.

Isn't that one of Steve Vai's songs? You know, the one that sounds like amplified faeces?

disclaimer: I actually happen to like Steve Vai so please don't take offence :P for the love of god is one of my favourite tracks ever.
