I did quick google search and I came up with a song called "we want the funk" but it is by an artist called "Ahmad"
When I read your post, I thought of the song with the following chorus:
Ow, we want the funk
Give up the funk
Ow, we need the funk
We gotta have that funk
...if that is in fact the tune your looking for, the correct title is: Give up the Funk.
