www.ultimate-guitar.com Search those bands (i'd lay off the GnR at first, it's a bit more complicated.. stick to later green day and mid-late blink)

I know its not rock but look into Crazy by Gnarls Barkley, its pretty easy and is fun as hell to play.

Also Holiday by Green Day is great practice for moving up and down the fretboard, its fairly simple to for the sole reason that I can play it, and I suck pretty bad haha

what really got me started was simply playing along with the songs I liked to listen to.you have to enjoy a song to really play it well.If your just starting off spend the time to get to know your new friend.Give it a name.If your like the rest of us you,re going to spend alot of time together.OH smoke on the water .....DO'NT DO IT.......and welcome ALG..

John Fogerty (Creedance Clearwater Revival) "Down on the Corner", not too hard and fun to play. Plenty of opportunity to have a bit of fun.
