Talking Heads "Pulled Up"

Hi all. Wondering if any of you expert bassists out there could point noobie-me to a tab (or make me a tab) for the Talking Heads song "Pulled Up."

I can't find it anywhere and it's a song I love.

Tina Weymouth was somewhat of an inspiration for me to finally decide to start playing bass (at 32 yo).

Is there something I could offer someone to help me get some tabs for this song?

Does someone know where I can get this tab? (book, website, etc)?

The only recording I found of this song is on YouTube.

Obviously the quality isn't very good.

The problem with obscure songs is that you will not find a tab or music for them usually. It looks like you will have to transcribe it yourself, by ear. The good news is the song doesn't sound too difficult.

The challenge of doing this yourself is a good thing. If you have a teacher, as him/her to help you with the project. You will get more out of it doing it yourself. It will help your ear, your will learn music theory a little better, and your playing will improve.

Good luck.

yeah, even after the limited 3 months I've been playing I have a real hard time telling what note is what. I have horrible pitch recognition I guess.

I don't have a teacher yet. One of the members of this forum will be my teacher as soon as I'm committed to that. But right now, no help there.

Thanks for looking though. It's a great song!

It's off of the album 77 if anyone has it. I think you can probably get it off of beemp3 too.

Thanks again.

Some more advice:

Don't try to play every note... just try to "jist" it. Play the root of the chords the guitar is playing... even if you are playing it "wrong", it is good ear training. You are finding the wrong notes and you can hear it... that is a good sign.

Good luck, and commit to the teacher as soon as you can. It is well worth the money and time.

Great song. I've never sat down and tried to figure it out, but I think I should now.

Gotta agree with GreggB, just hash out some of it for now--it'll give you a nice start to ear training.
