It's been a while since I've heard this song but I believe it's kind of a rumba...and should be just a 1/4/1/ with a 4/7th...this looks pretty right to me as far as the changes go....

I sometimes go on amazon and just download snippets of songs from albums to get the feel of the bass line and there's probably lots of youtubes with Chuck playing it live. btw it's actually titled "You Never Can Tell"

Hard to find much different out there on this one. It had the "good fortune" of being the song used in a scene in "Pulp Fiction" so 99% of the Youtube vids are from Pulp Fiction. And in Pulp Fiction they used the Chuck Barry version.

I'm trying to find some groove in this song too. We're working with the Bob Seager version but it seems like it's a very, very straight and simple I & V of the root alternating.

I've been trying something a little fancier but it just sounds like I am mimicking the guitars so there is no variety.

It might help if you use the title of the song too. "C'est La Vie (You Never Can Tell)", and there's a thread about it going on right now...
