Does anyone know this on bass? Looked all over the net and can't find a thing. Its totally bass driven throughout the verses besides the harmonica. I hear the rhythm but not sure of the tab.
Anyone know?

Think it's E - A with a B tossed in...pretty simple..look up the guitar chords...

Thanks for the input guys. I took a listen with some headphones and I think I got it last night. I just wanted to make sure I was getting it because it leads the song for the most part during the verses and our band is gonna try to do a cover.

Well, tab it out and post it....let's see what you came up with...

I'm sorry, but seriously? This is one of the easiest bass lines ever. I'm going to venture that's why you can't find it tabbed anywhere... cuz it's really not needed.

If you've never tried to learn a bass line by ear, this would be a good one to start with.

90% of the bass lines in Tom Petty's songs are ridiculously easy. I need to be in a Tom Petty Tribute Band, man that would be an easy job for a bass player.
