transcription of Amy Winehouse - Best Friends, Right? (live)

originally posted this in the General Instruction forum.. decided to give the thread a new home

"Let me know if you notice any errors in the notation, etc.. Keep in mind, I didn't bother with most articulations, ghosts, or even a time signature (it's in 4/4).

I've also uploaded an accompanying YouTube video.

Enjoy

Nice job. I'm not hearing any dissonance on the YouTube vid so I'd have to say you came as close as possible to nailing it. Very nice line. Who played it originally? The triplet run was an impressive fill. Did you use any special software for the transcription like transcribe or the amazing slow down? I'm curious about those, all I use are the scan and pause buttons on my cd player. Thank you for this.

thank you for the kind words! I'm not sure who played on that recording.. possibly Michael Olatuja? maybe someone else can answer that.

for lifting I generally use Audacity. nothing fancy, it just lets me quickly cue the track, and if needed, slow it down. I think I did use the slow-down feature to get that triplet run.. still not sure if it's correct but I settled for 'pretty-damn-close'.

thanks again -- glad you enjoyed it!
