I usually count it 4/8(1& 2& 3& 4&), myself.

I think it's 4/4, with the exception of 2 bars which are 2/4. And I think the key is D major because the first verse resolves to a D major 7th chord.

There are others on TB much better at theory than I am. But, I would say that because it starts in D major, every passage resolves in D major or D major 7th, and ends in D major, you should use that key signature.

A D Major key signature is comprised of 2 Sharps.

The 2 sharps are F and C

B minor is also a possibility because it aswell has 2 sharps that are F and C

TO find the relative minor to a major go DOWN 3 semi tones
So C#>C>B

And to find the Major to a minor go UP 3 Semi tones
So C>C#>D

I thought I would throw in a little theory lesson
