I wanna play Glen Tipton's part of Judas Priest's Rocka Rolla, and i prefer bass... but it just ain't working for me... it could be a fundamentally flawed ambition... but i figurred i'd have a shot. I found two guitar tabs which agree with each other a bit.
Version 1
PM PM PM [PM]

G[---2\-----2\------2\--------3--|
D[---2\1----2\1-0---2\1-0-----3--|

Version 2

I'm playing the same notes rather than the octave down by counting fret 12 as open string, it's only on the lowest 4 strings, so it all fits there.
Firstly that D2/G2 chord just doesn't resonate right on bass... So i've been stuffing round with just playing the lowest note, or sometimes just the highest note, but that last note (third fret of G or D) just doesn't fit...
Here's the youtube for anyone who doesn't know the song,

the bit of the tab here is the intro, i wanna play the bit by the guy doing backing vocals, i love that bit, i have it stuck in my head and need to express it!
Or should i just give up on this conversion and find me a guitar for cases like this...
