Anyone care to tab this out Victor Wooten jam ?

Vic is so percussive with his bass playing. I don't understand how to make the notes sound percussive and still sound like notes (the part immediately after the tapping). My notes sound too clear. If I mute it still doesn't sound like the vid. Also muting that quickly switching back and forth between techniques is difficult beyond words

it's really just how hard he attacks the strings with his picking fingers, together with how hard he frets the notes and how long he frets them. to get the percussiveness, you fret the note and release/mute with your fretting finger right after playing the note(s).

somewhat simple dynamics

He also has a great bass with great action that will pick up quite a bit of the intricacies of his playing.
