1st rehearsal with the music ensemble.

Well today was supposed to be the first rehearsal for the music ensemble I was tasked at putting together. Only one person showed up. It was the pianist, the guitar, french horn, and clarinet, all flaked out and didn't show up. They all knew there was a rehearsal today as when I saw Wednesday, they all said they'd be there, even ran into the drummer last night and he told me he'd be there.

I must say I'm highly dissapointed in this but I'm not going to let it stop me. I emailed everyone today and am seriously doubting I'll get any replies. But it said;

"I don't quite know what happened, but the only person that showed up to play
today was Valerie. I thought everyone told me last Friday that they could/would all be there yet only one person showed up. I need to know if you are all committed to this project. I thought everyone was but now I'm not so
sure. Please let me know either way. If you are great, if youre not thats ok too."

I've implemented a policy today that if you miss 3 rehearsals youre gone, no questions asked, its just going to hold everyone back, if they show up next Friday I'll brief them on it. I've also got more fliers up that are a little more specific, I'm targeting, electric guitarists, trumpets, saxophones, and drummers and also going to hold a brief audition process. I gave up on being a regular band member because of dip stick musicians like these ones and I can see not much has changed, the bulk of them just give lip service. "I'll do it, I'm down with it" but when it comes time to actually jam, they flake out and bail.

If someone misses the 1st rehearsal after telling you they'll be there, then don't count on them at all.

I'm not counting on any of them other than the one that actually came.

Emailed them and got no reply so my attitude is to Hell with them, so I'll just make up new fliers and start a new recruitment.

What?

You should have sent them a group e-mail saying, "All you mother****ers are fired."
