It might be region, or lack of vision. Or it may be that people have a different view of what is danceable. To me, if it gets a crowd up and moving, it's danceable. I've done 'non-danceable' songs like Man In The Box, Killing In the Name Of, What I Got, The Rooster, Guerilla Radio, Plush, etc. that totally got the crowd going and filled the dance floor. They weren't doing the electric slide to it, but they were still getting into none-the-less.
And there's alot of stuff that is danceable from that era that is not R&B or HipHop, but it's different. Two Princes, Semi Charmed Life, Crazy B***h, What I Got, When I Come Around, etc. all fill the dance floor and chicks seem to dig it, but they aren't going to be dancing all disco like they would for I Will Survive (especially if it's the Cake version).
