you guys are psyching the kid out... just give it a shot, worry about the details later. I had a lot of fun playing in bands that at the beginning i wondered if i would really enjoy it. I would have regretted not trying.

OK, as an almost 16 year old who isn't anti-drugs and alcohol, do not let your views get in the way of the music. By the same token, do not let them push you into things. As strong as your views are now, when forced into a corner, your moral fibres can be broken. Relax my friend, enjoy yourself, and play your heart out
