I know all about the Bandzoogle/Sonicbids/etc type sites. But as inexpensive as they are, they still cost $. Facebook is not an option. Myspace is free, but seems to be a shadow of its former self. So.... any other free "Myspace" type web site for bands? |

The best alternative to Myspace, however, is probably reverbnation, which has already been mentioned. It's free, easy to use, and effective. You can link it up to myspace, facebook, and twitter so that when you update one it updates them all for you. Simple. Easy.
Here's my band's reverbnation profile if you care to visit. www.reverbnation.com/airstreamsafari
Facebook though is without a doubt the best way to keep in touch with your fans. Everyone is on facebook. And they are on facebook alot.
Here's ours: listn.to/airstreamsafari
I also realize that the new myspace is awful, but let's face it; As long as it's still around you need to have one. Many people still think myspace when looking for a specific band.
Hope this helps. |

Hope this helps. | Thanks for all your info. Essentially, I've promoted many groups I've played in over the years. I'm not a noobie. This is a new project, and I just wanted a place the venues and club owners I already know could easily hop on and sample the tunes. Myspace used to be a good beginning, but it's not working the way I need it to. RevebNation, for this initial stage of this project is perfect. If this project takes root, all the other links will "viral" into place... as these things go....

FACEBOOK SUX... sadly myspace is still way better just the searching is a little annoying. the only reason facebook is considered better is because it came out after myspace. we would use pay phones if cell phones came out first (our reasons would be they dont cause radiation, their cheaper then payin $50 a month and u dont have u listen to ur phone consistantly ringing, etc.) |

1-If you have a website already (and can access the .html code), PM me.. I can help you redirect to a folder.
2-ReverbNation All the Way... they kind of have it figured out to be a "content manager" .. you put the content there.. then push to the other big 3.
3-Myspace doesn't really suck......... to really play their game, you really need to delete your account and start over... (I takes less time) ... folks forget that a viewer doesn't need to sign up to check out your material.
4-Facebook... folks that are all over saying it's the beezneez totally forget many companies block this address for their staff productivity.
