Thinking of joining one, presuming I pass the audition Tuesday. Thoughts? Experiences? Setlist?

On the bright side the singer/leader seems very nice and she can sing opera so the most important challenge is covered, and there's no intent to do anything from the post-"Empire" era.

How do you think a band like this might do overseas? She thinks it could be profitable if taken on the road. I looked online and only found a couple of such acts in the States and they don't seem to be too busy gigging. I figured the idea would go over much better, but then again the actual band has been touring a lot domestically itself lately so maybe the market's a bit burnt?

Well, who cares anyway. It'd be so much fun ! Queen of the ryyyyyyyyyyyche !!

Gonna have to do at least a few gigs to cover the cost of the Spector you're going to have to buy

Sounds like fun!

We're gonna make a $million. Doesn't matter who dies !

Jackson's playing a Lull jazz now actually.

Much as I'd like a nice Spector, I can cop it with either the LEJ in series mode or will probably just go 5-string with the Hotwire. Maybe the DJ5 with Aeros would even work? between those basses and my right hand it should be fine.

Not going to do drop-D tuning, so I'll definitely use something with a B string.

There was a Queensryche tribute band around the Western NY area in the mid 90's, and they were fantastic. I saw them several times and was blown away at how realistic they were. The singer even looked like Geoff Tate. Their name escapes me at the moment, though........

Good luck with the audition, SMASH. Queensryche has always been one of my favorite bands, and the last band I was in we were fortunate to have a singer that could sing like Tate. We covered "Anybody Listening?", and it was possibly my favorite song to play out.

I would definately go see a Queensryche tribute band. I am sure you could make at least a little bit of money with this but the idea of performing such great music should be rewarding in itself. Good luck.

Hopefully the singer is better than Geoff Tate nowdays.
His best singing is way behind him.
