Dear fellow mediocre bassists. I'm looking for someone to trade original compositions of the fairly basic variety. I have about half a dozen semi decent groove progressions that are my own work. We're a piano trio.

Idea being to expand repertoire more quickly than each of us could do alone. We don't have any youtube but I could rattle off a couple onto audacity and email it if anyone is interested.

Put it this way, Summertime has about three times as many chords in it as I need.

For clarity, no passing off other's work as your own, nothing gets recorded without agreement and the originator winds up with the writing royalties. Ok, that's a bit over the top for a couple of mediocre artistes but ya never know. I sure wouldn't be happy hearing my work on the radio unless I was getting the credit, and I sure wouldn't want to be found guilty of plagu..plager..ism however you spell it.

Tres cool. Add some instruments to our trio and we would be very similar outfits. The Flying Ants number is up our street for sure. What I'm after is stuff like that where the bass is sort of it's own melody. There's probably a name for that.
