Anyone ever tech bass for a touring act?

A possible "career" choice in the future. Like any other musician, I dream of spending weeks on the road playing gigs, but I'd rather get out there and meet more musicians and bands before I try to do it myself.

I've been considering looking into bass teching for a touring act, but I'm not sure what all this entails other than getting the bass ready for the gigs of course. I have plenty of experience playing live shows and setting up sound and bass rigs. Has anyone every teched bass for a major act, or an opener FOR a major act, and if so, would you suggest doing it?

i spent ten years on the road with touring bands, the best being the hellhounds. featured members of the georgia satellites. it was a blast in my 20's until real life set in. parents getting older and sicker, etc.
your job, is not just to tune guitars/basses. you must know everything there is to know about that instrument, amp and player.
pm me or email me and i'll go into more detail. it aint easy, but if you get good..........

I have a good friend who is the string tech for Dolly Parton.

He claims its a LOT of work although he's well compensated.

He just got back into town after a 10 countries in 31 days thing. His comment was, " Gawd, it's good to be back home"
