Anyone have experience in starting your own site?

Hey folks. Does anyone have any advice on starting a website to promote yourself as a bassist for hire? I know Blogspot.com offers a free domain name. Is anyone familiar with any others? Are there any that are better with uploading videos, music, and pics? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

or if you want more of a "web page" you can get a few pages and a site builder from GoDaddy

I have a Facebook. I'm just looking to see about getting a website with a domain name (hopefully free) that I can put on a business card.

Wordpress has a number of free templates you can use for free. There are advertisements if you don't pay. $17/year for hosting and domain. Like 32GB for storage.

You can set yourself up a personal page pretty easily on Band websites that work - no web design skills needed | Bandzoogle and you can also get your own domain name there.

Pre-made templates make it really easy to do.

I set up our own Domain name with Go Daddy and am using WIX to host our Website.
There is a learning curve and it takes time and paitence.
When you go get your own domain then you can have a direct address such as (www . beyondreasonband .com) if you don't then it would read something like (www . wix .Beyondreason band) .com not exact but you get the idea.
Seems kind of cheesy to have any other name than your band in the web address.
