Audition in less than 24 hours notice

I just got off the phone and have an audition tomorrow at 5:30 to play a style of music I've never played in my life, on top of that its all originals that I've never heard. I hit it off with the frontman/guitarist right away on the phone, we talked like we've known each other all our lives. This should be fun!

Should be fun! When in doubt, less is more!

Good luck!

I can do less! This should be a blast, I'm ready to nail this audition, not even a worry. From what I understand the music is fairly straight forward, not a lot of changes, I can do this in my sleep.

Still, I'd take a note book and write up some simple charts as you go. If you get the gig, you'll have the stuff ready for next rehearsal.

Best of luck.

maybe think of a cover that you all probably know to jam on, just to break the ice and warm up.

Relax, enjoy. Hope the originals have a verse structure, so that by the time you hit the bridge the second time through, it sounds like you've played with them forever.

Well, I did the originals audition and nailed it, got a call today from another band thats even closer thats doing something more lucrative in this area today. They emailed me a list of 7 songs, I called him an hour after getting the email and told him I was ready to audition. We met for a short time early this evening and played all 7 songs like we'd played them together for years, it just clicked. I think I found my new band. All great guys, this will be fun!
