Audition Piece

Sign in to disble this ad
Hola guys (and gals), I am auditioning to be the regular bass player for a local cover band. The guitarists for the band said what they are looking for in my piece is something groovy, fast, and technical. Any ideas? Keep in mind I am an amateur bassist so nothing insane.

Why don't you pick one from their setlist?

Ask them for their setlist, an agree on 4 - enough to prove you can learn/play the stuff without you having to learn too much material just for an audition.

Pick a couple from the list yourself (so you can show what you can do), and let them pick a couple (so they can "test" you).

If it's not on their setlist, then there's no point in learning it - how are you going to audition if THEY can't play it?
