I already have some things coming up.

A few email excepts;

1.
Sure we are still looking for a bass player. We are playing in Madison this weekend so I'll get back to you early next week.

2.
Tell me a little about you and we can see if it would work. Any prior experience? Age? Anything holding you back? (work, school..etc)

3.

I talked to Bill from The Fangs today. He said they have not found anyone yet. I will pass your contact info on and a good word.

I had so much support from people this was by no means a down and out thing.

I suggest you go check out the band if they'll give the gig info to you.

There won't be a real update until after my next audition, Have not heard anything from Tuesday.

I had 2 more aditions, one fell through, they found their guy before I got to audition. It was a friend, so I understand that.

I have another audition Sunday, I am rehearsing 3 songs for now. My plan, learn them inside out , goin be polite and throw a few complimnts around if things rock. And while I don't talk much I plan on even talking less.

I know what you guys think about noodling, it's the kiss of death. To much talking is also not cool.

YUP, un-solicited LIP SERVICE=major brown nosing. Don't do it. Let the music do the talking.

+1 on placing an ad.

I had been scanning the Craigslist ads daily and not finding much so I wasn't very hopeful about it. In fact there were a bunch of bass players advertising their availability at the same time. I was contacted by TWO bands wanting to replace their current bass players but weren't yet ready to tell them. First band I passed the audition then I passed on their offer, lol. Second one took me two auditions and things are going great now.

Sounds like you have a good attitude bluewine, you should get in with a good group

Best of luck!

the most important aspect of an audition is your personality. If you don't talk to me I'll asume you don't talk to other people and don't have any contacts to bring to gigs. I'll pass. Now I'm not saying talk to me for 45 min about how your crazy x stole your crap and she's so rich anyway (yes it has happened) but if I have any question about your personality I'm not picking you.

So if I'm a well equipped, reliable, resourceful, creative, punctual, non-druggy, well groomed, lead singer, who plays bass but is quiet and has a reserved personality, you'll pass?

Good question, I'm just going to be myself, a decent resonable, reliable stable ,well groomed guy that loves playing bass.
