I'm excited about a sudden opportunity for my band, so I wanted to share with my TB peers! Not a game-changer, but certainly something we haven't done yet.
In January, we were in the studio recording a new single. We also worked with a local photographer to create a video for the single, which really turned out great (we think). We thought the video would be a good "first strike" marketing weapon, since it is easy to send to promoters via email, and is easy to click on and view, and represents us well.
So, we sent it out on Wednesday to a few places, like a radio station that does a weekly "local music" hour, and a tv station that does a local morning variety show that sometimes features bands.
Later that same afternoon, the producer of the tv show wrote us back, saying that she dug the video. She went on to say that while it might be short notice, she had an opening on Monday's show that she wanted to know if we could fill!
So, we're going to be on local TV on Monday morning. We're really looking forward to it! It'll be a good chance to get two songs in front of an audience who would otherwise never see us at a gig. Every little bit of exposure helps, right?
Just wanted to share!
If you're interested, here's the video we sent out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w18C_YzcSq0 |

Grats on your tv appearance, and good luck!
BTW, your singer looks an awful lot like my ex-step-father-in-law did about 10 years ago. |

| | | | Cool tune. Musically, it reminds me of early Train or The Clarks. I could hear the audio track but, for some reason, the video tracks on You Tube are not appearing for me on any videos since yesterday. Best wishes on your TV appearance.

Caffeine, fatigue & sugar do not make for a good performance (lord, how I know that!). Another thing - keep your eyes open - - TV folks are an odd lot, so if you're lucky, you can see someone behaving badly off camera, even early in the AM...
have fun!

On the video issue, sounds like you might be having a browser/plug-in/driver problem on your own machine. Maybe Flash? |

If it's a live TV show, you will have to be quiet the entire time except when you are performing so there's not much chance to warm up.
I just did this same thing with our band last week and our singer was not sounding like himself on the first song at all. |
