Very different that my normal funk gigs. Normally their bass player uses a Gibson Grabber or a Fender P. I decided to take the Stingray. Fit in and gave them a little different taste sonically.
Congrats on the audition. Its always cool to start jamming with new folks. |

Congrats on the audition. Its always cool to start jamming with new folks. | Thanks! Yeah it is fun, and especially when the people you're playing with are as good as you are or better. That makes it much more fun.
And yeah, I would think a Stingray would fit in just about anywhere. Kind of like the Fender P or J.

Some people look down on Squiers and I didn't want to make a odd first impression. The fact that they didn't care what I played was great. If they'd turned up their noses at the Squier that would have turned me off. Does that make sense?

Oh and Russ, I definitely let you know when I'm playing out. Won't be for a bit though since the group is still looking for a singer.

I still get comments from people who have never seen a 6-string bass before (and I have been playing 6-stringers since like '92...). |
