Yeah thanks, I think that's the case, though the bass made quite an impression. You don't see a lot of sonic blue P basses around. It's really pretty.

That's interesting. I filled in for one of my drummer's other bands on Friday night. It was straight up blues rock. Very different that my normal funk gigs. Normally their bass player uses a Gibson Grabber or a Fender P. I decided to take the Stingray. Fit in and gave them a little different taste sonically.

Congrats on the audition. Its always cool to start jamming with new folks.

Thanks! Yeah it is fun, and especially when the people you're playing with are as good as you are or better. That makes it much more fun.

And yeah, I would think a Stingray would fit in just about anywhere. Kind of like the Fender P or J.

Will you have a say in what instruments they play?

It's not that. I was just concerned as to which one would fit in the best. Some people look down on Squiers and I didn't want to make a odd first impression. The fact that they didn't care what I played was great. If they'd turned up their noses at the Squier that would have turned me off. Does that make sense?

They didn't care a bit. They just loved the color and the way it sounded. I think I'll keep these guys.

Oh and Russ, I definitely let you know when I'm playing out. Won't be for a bit though since the group is still looking for a singer.

Sometimes I tend to forget that. Though I've met a few guitarists that were really that way.

When I play rock, it's the Yamaha Attitude all the way. Blues/country/open mic jams I'll bring my Modulus Q6.

I still get comments from people who have never seen a 6-string bass before (and I have been playing 6-stringers since like '92...).

A lot of people haven't seen anything other than a Fender bass before, so a 6 string is usually quite the novelty.
