If it ain't fun, and it ain't paying the rent, get a new gig.

Drama is for little girls.

What you need to do is talk it out with the both the badmouthers and the singer.

If you can't work it out after trying to talk it out thorougly, then peace out!

It seems like someone is trying to tell you about the singer's "personal issues" for "your own safety/information". He's just talking crap that's all it is.

Same thing happened in the group I'm in right now. The guitarist told the band the bandleader was "bi-polar". What a load of BS! He just would get mad when the drummer overplayed. Needless to say it caused the guitar player to get kicked out, because he was just being immature. Sure, he's 40 yrs old, but still immature, and not working with us.
In that same situation, if I had left, it would've left the bandleader in a real predicament. Do everyone a favor and lay it out on the table.

I laid it out last night with the guitar player/co-leader, stating that I was out due to the politics and the fact that the enjoyment was gone. He understands completely and supports my decision.

My sanity and enjoyment is #1.
