Which of these do you guys think is a better logo? (sorry about the size differences by the way).

The first one is Jon's, and the second one is Matt's.

Thanks

I voted for Jon's (the black letters).
But I would put red arrows for the two "i" in "living" as in the second logo.

+1

However, had you asked "what do you think of these logo ideas?" I would have to say I would keep working on it. I think you can easily make the concept better, for instance: I would experiment with stacking the words to somehow play up "under." Or, what about some authoritative eyes looking down on the stacked words...

(just a quick crappy ms paint idea....)

not a bad idea. I'm not a fan of the eyes idea, but putting the text on two lines could be better.
I prefer and I think it's easier to use when the logo is more "square" instead of a long linear logo.
If you put "living under authority" on one line, you have a 1/5 scale (sorry "scale" is certainly not the right word.. english isn't my mothertongue and I don't think the right translation. but I hink you get the idea).
If you put it on 2 lines, you'll have a 2/3 scale, which is, IMO, easier to use, to put on a website, etc.

Black and white.. it's cheaper and easier to reproduce.

Try something along these lines putting the word Living actually "under" the word Authority

AUTHORITY

LIVING

Granted there will be many other things to consider such as layout, but what we are looking for at the moment is what everyone thinks of the font and text colours etc.

Thanks

Voted Matt but IMO, the red down arrows just didn't seem to fit.
Maybe change them into some kind of "authority" type symbol.

I'm starting to agree about the arrows not looking right, although they were just part of the font that we used. I can't think of an alternative to the arrows which would take up a similar space, but it might help if I reposition them so that they are not all exactly vertical.

I went with Jon's design. I prefer the colour scheme. I also agree with some of the suggestions above:

Change the arrows (the ones pointing upwards) so they are red.

I also agree that the other arrows (the smaller ones facing downwards) don't seem to fit.

Consider Richland123's idea of placing the words 'living' and 'under' actually underneath the word 'authority'. I also agree that the words should be arranged on two lines.

However, I don't think I like the idea of putting eyes above the logo. Sorry ChrisB2.

As for the way the words look in the logo I like that it is all in uppercase but I don't think I like that all the letters are at different angles and heights, if you know what I mean. I would put them all at the same height and angle and make the letters tall, but not wide. And square. Sorry if this description is confusing.

Anyway those are my views on the subject.

Good luck with it, and be sure to post the updated logo when you finish it!

+2- i think you're on the right track but probably not ready to order stickers and t's just yet. if you've taken it as far as you can or if the 2 candidates are from inside the band, maybe go to someone local (artist) and see what they come up with?
