OK, since the naming threads are back; I'm actually just fishing for reactions here. I've recently been outvoted on a band name. It's a 4-piece (drums, 2 guitars, me on bass) cover band which leans a little more toward R&B and a dose of reggae more than straight rock. There's some alt-rock/pop in the list (some Franz Ferdinand, Weezer, a Raconteurs tune), but stuff like "Use Me" (Bill Withers), "Superstition" (a little more Stevie Ray Vaughn than Stevie Wonder), Joss Stone's take on "Fell in Love with a Girl," some Sublime and Bob Marley tunes. I think I posted a thread on the current state of the setlist somewhere on TB a while back. Hope that gets the idea across. All guys in their 30s-40s with wives and families and all that but wanting to gig regularly.
So nominations for the name included:
Hairless Apes
Super Nice Guys
Parabolic Wave
Funky Paws
Which do you all think has the most appeal?

Ive never had a hard time naming one of my bands.
My current band, and agreeing on an album title, is a whole nother story, though.

Or, N.S.S.S.B.O.N.S.S. for short.

But it's true, if you name the band before anyone joins, it makes it easy!
Of course, getting folks to join a band called the Ugly Apes might be challenging...

The Naked Apes would be better than Hairless Apes, because "Naked" sounds dirty.
The Naked FORNICATING Apes would be better still.
The Naked FORNICATORS would be better still.
Funky Paws makes me think of ice cream for dogs, and no way were you serious with those other two names.
I don't know why no one ever uses "Flesh Glove."

It has a positive ring to it, just sounds like a good time. Would look good on a flyer too

Of course, getting folks to join a band called the Ugly Apes might be challenging... | No, no, not The Ugly Apes... simply "Ugly Ape". And getting people to join was easy, they seemed to just show up, sometimes when we didnt want them to!
