I think short band names are effective...name the band "Vlo"

Vlo appears to be the dutch word for a flea, or Flea in this instance.

PuttingTheWordFunkInYourBandNameReallyOnlyWorkedFo rFunkadelic...

Or PWFIYBNROWFF for short.

As long as 'funk' isn't in the name of the band, you're good. I swear that word alone tells me exactly who I shouldn't be listening to. Funnily enough, bands with 'groove' in their name tend to be pretty awesome in my experience.

Yeah, again with the exception of the George Clinton bands, having funk in your band name is an instant red flag... and I live for funk.

As far as 'groove' in the name goes... what bands are you talking about? The only one I can think of is the Addison Groove Project...

AGP is the first band that came to mind for me too! That's actually the only one I can think of but I could've sworn I've known other bands with 'groove' in their name that were pretty sweet....

Jeebus... Just read the first two pages of this thread. Can words cause physical pain? I think I should see a doctor.

Yeah, there's a lot of bad - but I might steal 'Albert Fish Market' from myself for something

Yup, avoid the word "funk" in the name at all costs.
I'm hungry so all my ideas are a bit "gek". Oh, and please forgive my spelling, I'm not dutch.

"Stroopwafel Machine"
"Zoppototmetmayonaise"
"BitterBallen"
"Pannekoek Met Spek"
"Apfel Stroop"
"Haggelslaggers"
"Speelt Stroop"
"Boerenkool"
"Hollandaise Sauce"
"The Shakin' Fritjes"
"Stroop Dijk"
"Croquetten"

Or how 'bout

"Do Pomme Fritjes Go With That Shake?"

"Canal Dijvers"

"Canal Rijders"

If you must have "Funk" in the name, then name yourselves...

"The Funky Fritjes"

"Rijksfunkers"

"Funkjes of the Elfstedentocht"

As per another suggestion... "Fonken Klompen"

"Schevunkingen" or "Schefunkeningen"

"Rookfunkworst"

"Stroopfunk"

"Funky Fiets"

How 'bout simply the "Funkjes" or "Vunkjes"?

It's late here, way past my bed time...

How about "Can't Understand Normal Thought"? It's all about the acronyms. Alternatively, you could use "I'm So Meta Even This Acronym".
