Band problem

**CAUTION**. I am a poor excuse for an American education in writing composition, it may seem like I'm rambling on but I assure you I just have terrible judgment on where to put periods and commas****

**** YOU CAN and probably WILL not understand what I haven't written/ get lost...

IVe been in a band with my older bro and little bro and two other friends. We've been playing together since last year but became a full band in October when we got a new singer that actually sang on a mic and not our old drummers..."drum stick" (she did the dirty with him in our house- a family home). Around february we booted our old drummer cus he was holding our bros place till he became a better drummer + he wasn't good he was a guitarist originally, and the cockiest deusche! So yea we've been a band OFFICIALY for a few months. Drummer and I are still in highschool, I'm going to be a senior. Now the three oldest have already graduated, singer has a job and lead and I are lookin for jobs. Now the oldest being my bro is just the one part of this band that pisses me off! I'll start with the small offenses then progress,(1): he's all about having epic super complicated songs like Lamb of God (they'll come up later). 2 (he shoots down my ideas) A week ago I was showing our lead guitarist this riff I made up and he liked it so we worked it and so on, but later I over heard lead trying to show rhythm (older bro) what we made to which he replied, "oh sounds lime an instant classic" in the most sarcastic voice; which crushed me so hard inside.(3): this gets me ticked- in the middle of practice or trying to make a new song because he has no creativity he breaks into a F***ing lamb of god song that lead and drums join in on bcuase they're afraid he'll either throw something at them or don't want to stop playing( at this point I can't stop them so I turn off my amp n take my bass upstairs to practice by myself- and this happens EVERYTIME!!!!!!! not even a different artist! always LoG, I used to like them now I can't listen to them! (4) you'll see him on his "battlestation" more than his guitar either playing battlefield or on 4chan. (5) : this guy is a phuckin BUM!!!! I have looked for jobs for HIM!!! He's always b****ing and moaning about not having money to get better gear. It infuriates me! He is 19 that that is two years that from the minute I turn 18 I would have tried looking- TRIED!!! Today we wer watching tv, and I see his project guitar that he plans on dipping to get snow camo on but costs $100 for film so I ask him what happened? (I received an answer that made me lose all respect) he said he had no "investers"... he went on Facebook with the intention of asking other musician friends if they'd put in money for the kit and he'd dip some of their stuff too.
He barely tries to make parts for songs our lead luckily is the most creative dude i know and even when he's on vacation he finishs parts and songs that make me proud to work with him...like my own Vic Wooten to play along with.

Sounds like you need a new group of people to play with.

(If its any help I'm a huge metal fan but can't listen to or watch Lamb of God either. All I hear is a wall of unintelligible noise and all I see on stage are a few dudes standing static while gently bobbing their heads to count time. Maybe I haven't heard/watched enough. That comment isn't exclusive to LoG either, just keeping it in context!).

Yea I've already looked into that but the only band that has an open bass spot has this guitarist that looks like he wants to play wimpy stuff so I'll have to wait for a better opportunity. But I gotta give John campbell props he plays some hard stuff

Dude, what you have written is incomprehensible nonsense. Good luck with your band problem, but I think you should re-think any attempts to communicate in written form without punctuation.

Sorry, I don't know who John Campbell is and haven't the time to find out at the moment. Maybe tonight.

Any chance of you putting a group together, even part time? You could start by approaching the dudes in both bands who you get on with and who fit your needs...not to poach them just to find some guys with common ground to get started making some noise. You never know, if there's that few musicians around your area/age, they might be relieved at the opportunity to do something else and join up there and then!

The only other solution I can think of is software like Band in a Box or GuitarPro that lets you write stuff and jam along to.

Best of luck with it.

you talk dribble, but what you're doing is learning about band politics and leadership, dont sweat the small stuff, be a good bass player, other things come up, keep your options open and try auditioning for other bands....

Look, you're young. What you're dealing with is pretty typical for rock or metal bands in their late teens/early twenties. If you stick with you may find some people who you get on with a bit better. Or you may end up stuck with the same thing forever. In other words, get used to people in amateur situations being hard to work with, because if they knew how to be professional that's what they would be.

Honestly, I’d be happy if the OP just used paragraphs.

Don't worry about being illiterate. How do you feel about yourself?

Yeah, because heaven forbid you have low self-esteem about not learning how to read and write intelligibly...

If you guys are going to be a real band someday you are going to have to let go of the dead wood (Your Bro.) If not you are just spinning your wheels imo

....oh yea paragraphs! Sorry I hadn't had any typing class's since last year, I mostly had math and science and thanks for all your input. Though I've decided to call a band meeting to have a talk and see what's on everyone else's mind.

summarized and translated for older, native english speakers:

My older brother is the one part of this band that pisses me off, because:
1: he's wants epic super complicated songs like Lamb of God
2: he sarcastically shoots down my ideas
3: in the middle of practice he would rather play a lamb of god song and drums join in -always happens.
4: he plays video games more than guitar
5: he is lazy and does not contribute on the same level as others.
Easy answer:
Your bro is lazy and unfocused. The drummer is helping him be. Kick one or both out.

Difficult answer:
As mentioned, it is typical behavior for a teenage metal band.
Anyone who makes it to 25 and is still playing will tell you the situation is very temporary.
If you are truly serious about music, you need to adapt a longer term view.
Stop wasting time and energy being angry and firing blame at your brother.
Ask yourself what YOU can do for YOUR musical ability.
Get an instructor & take lessons, learn theory, other styles and put in the hard work to become a better bassist / musician.
Then, a few years down the road, you can find an established, working band that needs bassist
-not just a group of bros and buddies getting together and playing out of convenience and proximity.

If your other bro who seems dedicated is also as serious,
you can work together towards improving musically and help each other.
The "band" you're in can be a good outlet for using what you learn,
but don't let it be the primary focus of your efforts and emotional investment at this age.
