Believe it or not, if the local shows within 2-3 miles away (I live in a city), I can carry a bass, a 212 cabinet, amp, the 3 pedalboards, and the two toms/ stands on my bicycle trailer.

But most of the time, we have friends with cars and access to vans through a carshare program. We are currently saving up to buy our own van. And sometimes we dont bring the turntables or ALL of the percussion that out percussionist has (depends upon what songs we are doing/ his mood.) I might leave the glockenspiel at home or the toms (but I usually have all my drums or at least either the popcorn snare or the concert toms). Sometimes some of us will set up partially on the stage and partially on the floor (if the venue lets us). We make it work. What makes matters worse is that the vocalist and myself move around alot while we play.
