The overall site isn't going to change much, but what would you guys do/add/delete?

General thoughts, ideas?

That is a very clean looking website. I found it easy to navigate. My only comment would be that, IMO, the color used for your name at the top of the page doesn't pop your name out enough. Almost like it is camoflauged a bit. But all in all a nice site.

nice site

2 things caught my eye

1: if you hover over a link in the guitar sidebar, it starts flickering, I didnt really like that, but it's a non-issue

2: at the bottompage it says: created with sitemapper or something like that that looks kinda unprofessional, and can easily be removed

Okay so I'm a professional, let me start by saying its quite good for a novice, I can get around it, it makes sense, it looks clean and tasteful. I really like the old stained wood texture you have going on. Honestly its better than a lot of pro sites I've seen.

Now for some tips...

Move your nav to either a top horizontal position or the left top corner. or just switch the left with the right collumn. (this is because the eye looks to the top left first, because of the way we read books)

Clean up the cropping/dithering on that guitar, or just scratch it and put like a shadow of a guitar there or something. (its right next to your nav, a really terrible place to have a low quality image)

Give yourself a little more padding on the top between the browser tools and the bands name. (a little empty space does a lot for a design)

change the color of the bands name, it clashes with the green background, and it just isn't bright enough to catch my eye. (the tan you used for the rest of the site would probably look great)

Put borders on the individual pics in the bios (some people don't bother it drives me nuts when people don't)

Space the posts in your blog a bit more.

Kill the hit counter it screams 1995 personal site. If you want to know how many people have seen your site there are better hidden ways that can give you a lot more information.

LAST AND MOST IMPORTANT! You don't have any meta tagging or decent title information, you need to do these things so that search engines find your site. Look up basic SEO (search engine optimization) meta, title and description tags. If you need some help with this stuff look at the source for some business sites, or PM me and I'll show you some examples.

Overall though, pretty fantastic, beats the hell out of a myspace!

haha well I don't know about a report just yet...

Thanks for the tips. I don't have access to Dw here, but I will definitely make some of the changes suggested when I get back home. Feel free to comment more and sign up for the newsletter if you want.

looks clean
If you were gonna change anything, I would change something in the 'Band' section. You can't see the full picture of the people at the top because you have to scroll to far down to see it. I hope that makes sense. But overall, excellent!

Yeah I was thinking of changing that somehow. I like the concept but I really like that the thumbs are a little bigger than "average" so I'm not sure what I'm going to do on that. I have a big monitor so I don't have to scroll, but the average person doesn't. (why not!!?)

The name at the top of the page needs to really stand out; it's the first thing that hits you. My suggestion: lighten it a tiny bit, and stick a 2-3 pixel white or black. Also, get rid of the cuttings on the edges of the letters...
