Band websites

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everybody.
So my original band has decided we are going to set up our own website. I did a little research, although i am still a little unsure on how it all works. From what i gather we have to register a domain, and than also pay for web hosting.
I was wondering what sort of deals/prices are the normal rates, and if there are a few main companies that supply web hosting that have a good history of reliability.
Also when it comes to designing websites what the best software to use is.
If anybody could help in any way it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time

Its pretty darn cheap to get a domain name, if you have to pay at all. If you have any friends that can give you one, take it. Thats what my dad did when he set up my bands site.

A fan of my band set us up one so we could use and get our band name for $10.00 a year. We are having the site designed as of today.

there are a ton of do it yourself sites out there

www.bandvista.com
www.bandzoogle.com
www.bandhub.org
www.band-website-hosting.com
www.mediawebsource.com
www.rockbandsites.com
www.homestead.com
www.bandhosting.info
www.unsigned.com/build-your-own-website
www.rock-n-roll-design.com

these are just geared towards bands....but the list goes on and on....

they charge anywhere from $4.95 a month to $19.95 a month and range from very basic to full all out sites with storefronts, blogs, e-mail accts. etc...

most don't require any knowledge of HTML code you simply pick a template and fill it in

good luck

Myspace is a good website to share your band's music on the internet. along with soundclick.
