| | | | Luckily as I live in the UK, I don't have to worry about tipping.
You want a drink? Go to the bar. No waitresses in sight......
I only drink Coca Cola when I'm playing anyway!!! |

If he or any band member does that, the band will not likely be playing there again
ABC (Alcoholic Beverage Control) has VERY stringent regulations about outside alcohol being consumed in bars. Bringing your own, in a flask, can get their liquor license suspended.
I was working as a bouncer, and watched our head bouncer fire a band for this

I'd pull him aside to have a one on one about how reality works
Yes bartenders and staff have a ton of clout

then you seriously underestimate some bouncers.
In CA you have to have a "guard card", to be a bouncer. Part of the education is in looking for people doing stuff like this.
I have caught a lot of people with outside alcohol, but the real idiots are the ones who think they cannot be caught.
Usually I dump their booze, then send them away

Here two shots of Patron can make a $40 tab.

In most cases, the employees get to give their opinions in band booking decisions.

They will remember you and in a good way! So the next time I'm there they will look forward to serving you. And I try to remember their name if I can. But what do I know? |

Show up on time, do your sound checks when they give you the slot, keep your breaks to the time, treat the audience and staff well. You're reputation is only as good as the lowest denominator and I think you know who that person is. Look man, drummers can be replaced. Wait staff are minimum wage earners and depend on tips. It's just crappy that this guy acts like such a jerk. Look him in the eye, give him one final warning and if he continues to do so much as throw a wry comment someone's way, follow through and fire his ass. Sometimes you have to let people learn their lessons on your dime, and let the next band give him another chance at their own risk.
