I live only a few miles from Daytona and have been to bike week many times. Not sure whether this particular bar would be the best place for an 11 y/o, but there's a LOT of skin showing at many of these bars so be prepared for this young man to get quite an education.

Hard to believe that any rational adult would consider such a thing.

It's a daytime gig, way away from Main Street (it's actually in Ormond, on US-1).

Probably the only crowd will be if Iron Horse is too full......

Like I said before, not one of the hotspots, and about zero chance of being "discovered".

What's the worst that could happen? A little nudity, a shot of whiskey, maybe some meth or coke? Drew Barrymore and river pheonix turned out ok. Wait...

He probably won't see too much that he wouldn't see in any art museum etc. so I doubt it will "warp" him in any way.

Now how the parents respond to miss little young hot to trot needing some attention is where he may learn something.

He certainly isn't going to get discovered. But, I don't think any harm will come out of it, and he may have a very interesting experience (boobs won't hurt him, and he'll be the coolest kid at school, probably already is). When I was 11 yrs old, I certainly could've handled it and enjoyed it. In some ways kids are more grow-up now, but in others they are not.

Thanks for my big laugh of the day!

I guess you could include Lindsey Lohan?

As a father of a young boy, I agree. For many of the reasons already noted in this thread, this situation is an awful idea.

We have played every bike week and biketoberfest in Daytona on Main Street since 2007 and are there again in March, both weekends. If you have any questions/concerns, email me directly:

h2hbass@gmail.com

Cheers!

That being said, in general, Bike Events (and we a lot of them) can be very raunchy, although I think Daytona is tamer than it was 4-5 years ago (not sure why). That being said, it is NO PLACE for kids. It really isn't.

I cannot believe this is a discussion.

Talk about living through your kids.

If the guy so desperately wants his kid discovered tell him to make some youtube videos and send them to Ellen, he might be able to be the next Beiber if he is lucky.

I'm recalling a story that has been told often by one Danny Bonaduce.

Something to do with him being deflowered at a VERY young age during his "Danny Partridge" glory days.

Anyway, good on the OP for standing his ground and opting out of this fiasco.

The kid can turn on the TV and see sicko porn like "Criminal Minds" on CBS.

So what was the problem here?

Played all of them from bike week to sturgis and biketober. Expect to see scantily clad women and behavior that should not be witnessed by an 11 year old. Been doing bike rallies for 14 years and its not the place for him.

That poor kid... if his puberty hormones have kicked in at all he's gonna have wood the whole time he's down there.

Seeing boobs never hurt anyone. How can people who either lived through or were begotten during or after the "sexual revolution" be such prigs? Oh, and yes, I'm a father of an 18 year old girl and a 14 year old boy. I'm more concerned that they might watch reality T.V. than if they see real boobs or male member out in the world.

I know this is a contrarian viewpoint. I'm used to being on the opposite of the "normals" on a lot of topics.

repsectfully offered,

Mugre

Do any laws in the State of FL or the County in which Daytona Beach resides prevent 11 year olds from attending bars? There would be your answer.
