Breaking up with band in less than 2 hours

I've got a practice at three and I'm announcing my departure. I've got reasons ready and an offer to play out scheduled gigs and help ease the transition to the next bassist, but I'm afraid it's going to be ugly. Any last minute advice for me?

Be levelheaded and professional about it. Don't walk in angry.

Don't start any drama. Just give them the truth.

Just tell them you're pregnant. They'll understand.

Tell them everything you've hated about the band since you started with them. They'll appreciate the feedback. Make sure they know you're not messing around. Use profanity and violence if necessary to make your point.

Just tell them that "It's not you, it's me... because I really don't like playing with you."

+1 to showing up drunk also.

It went surprisingly well, especially considering that the drummer took the opportunity to announce that he was leaving too!

It might have gone so smoothly because only 3 out of 5 of us were at practice.

Time to start looking for a new band I guess.

So there was only 1 guy left in the room who was staying in the band?
Ha!

Sorry but that's hilarious!

Yeah, and he called the other guys, who will presumably be at practice tomorrow.

I wonder what he's posting on his favorite forum right now?

Something like this:

I hang out on both bass and drum forums, and I keep waiting for the day that I witness matching gripe posts.

I'm on a couple of boards that have guitar/bass/drums/etc all on there. I once saw a post where someone was griping about his band and talking about how bad he was treated, and his guitarist inadvertently posted on there and said he shouldn't put up with that kind of stuff from the band, and the original guy posted back and was like "Well your the main cause of all this." They didn't post after that what happened.

And apparently only 1/3 of them bother to show up for scheduled rehearsals.

I know this is late, but it helps if you tab out everything for the new bassist: the band will appreciate it.
