Business cards

I'm getting business cards printed this week. Although I am a bassist, I do other things too, so I call myself a "songwriter - composer - multi-instrumentalist". That is the short way of saying I am a singer-songwriter, composer, bassist, guitarist, pianist, accompanist, arranger, etc.

So my card needs some sort of icon or picture on it. Can't be a bass, can't be a piano, can't be anything too specific, but whatever it would be, I can draw it. I could do notes on a staff, but everyone does that.

I'll be handing these out at band shows, theater gigs, all situations. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Take it from a graphic designer: you don't -need- an icon/logo. A lot can be done with just text. There's also something to be said about classic simplicity.

Of course, if you absolutely -must- have some kind of graphical element, why not go with a photo of yourself? Maybe something stylized... photo-cards aren't just for real estate agents any more

Yeah, Eli is right... sometimes just the text is cool.

Take a hint from real estate agents. People work with people they remember. Your photo is possibly the most important thing on your card.
