Could dating the chick singer tear the band apart?

Could dating the chick singer tear the band apart? I'm thinking of asking out our awesome female singer, but I like this current band. Is it a good choice? I've always heard its a no-no.....

At the very least, you're upping the stakes.

Usually, dating inside the band is like dating a roommate - great while things are good, but incredibly ugly if things start to go wrong. Are you prepared to leave the band if things don't work out? Are you comfortable acting as if nothing happened if she says "no" ?

What's this dating thing? Just ask her for a drunken one night bang, or you could suggest a band gang bang in true rock'n'roll style..

But seriously, i have seen it all before, and the outcome can only be bad (unless you two are real soulmates), just look at ABBA or FleetwoodMac.

It'll end the band, my experience is 99 percent of the time. The only 100 percent band destroyer is the girlgrfriend brought in to play tambourine. This is closely followed by keyboards at 99.5 percent. Your relationshifp will last 6 months after the break up of the band at which point you will be asked "Your bass or me?"

If she looks like a young Stevie Nicks or the blonde from ABBA all bets are off and you have yourself a good time! Isn't that why you play?

Yea more than likely it'll ruin the vibe of the band. Not to Threadjack, but I was in a band like 4 years ago that went through this. Our drummer brought in this girl to play keys, but this chick could belt out screams better than many dudes I know. So she ended up dating said drummer, and after a few months they broke it off, and everything was cool. Soon enough she starts dating one of our guitarists. Things seemed alright but slowly you started to see they were trying to push him out. After the drummer left, we all had kind of a bad taste in our mouths. We searched for another drummer but we just ended up calling it quits. I still keep in touch with all the guys and the couple just recently broke it off. So me and the other guys are thinking about getting things back together.
So as long as she doesn't leave you for someone else in the band, I think you might be ok

There'll always be another band with an awsome female singer after this one. Just be a serial bandogamist. Let Lurv take it's course, before the drummer does.

wait for her to quit the band----then ask her out (but with no asking her back into the band in a moment of weakness). While she's in the band-------no way---and I'd take another band member to serious task if HE started up antics with her--------matter of fact, if SHE gets involved, that would make me question HER professional attitude towards your band's effort also, and I'd ask both of'em to leave and take their romance AND DRAMA elsewhere--no good will come of it as far as the band is concerned. Period.

Papazita----that picture is frickin' HORRIBLE!!! LMAO.

I thought they were siblings. Right until your post, which made my google it, and Wiki says they claimed they were siblings to make people focus on the music, but it later came out that they were in fact married.
