Doing this thing properly!

So in exciting news, I quit my job this week. It's good to know the 4 years i spent to a uni degree leads me to job that bores me ********. but i digress.

Rather than get a new "proper" job i figured i'd actually do the whole muso thing properly. I've been playing for about 8 years and have always had things like work and study taking up all my time and stopping me making music my main priority.

So how to go about it? I have 2 bands already - 1 is ******* me off and will likely be left with the job and the other is with mates who aren't the best musos (except the drummer) but it's fun regardless. so the plan is join a cover band to ensure a steady flow of gigs and maybe get another original bands on the side.

What i'm looking for is ways to network, get involved with bands etc. There's been a lack of bassist wanted adds in recent weeks so i'll need to be more proactive.

Thanks all.

Lyons

Pack your gear in the Ute, hop on the Nulabor, and head for the Goldcoast! Live outa your ride, until you get some mates to room with, and grab your bass and try and get some sit ins at the clubs, and meet some people, and get it goin. Can always head down to Sydney, lots of big city there, Maybe try Melbourne on the way up there first. It's all good. The best thing you've got goin on there mate, is that you can't freeze to death in Australia, like you can here. Just watch out for the big brown snakes and the red bellied blacks and you'll be right. Perth is great, but your limited to just Perth. There's alot more to offer on the other coast I'd like to think. Give 'er hell mate!!
