| | | | my jazz/funk band played a charity gig with a band we're friends with, we played move on up by curtis mayfield with the horns and the whole deal, it was kick-ass, and then (discussed and planned but completely unrehearsed) we went into the kanye west song that samples move on up, the drummer from the other band was doing the rap, it was sweet, everybody was going nuts. we played with the audience by bringing it way down and having just the horns play with hits on 1 and 3 and then came right back in full steam ahead. that was an absolutely terrific moment, everybody in the house was diggin' that | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
