Facing a Tough Decision

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys,
I need your opinion on a problem my band is facing. Our lead singer is terrible for our band - and I'll leave it at that - so we're kicking him out. The problem arises, obviously, in finding a new singer. As far as this goes, I'm fairly confident in my singing OR playing ability, but not both at once for lead vocals. I'd like to continue playing bass in the band, but I had enough of playing shows with no singer when our band was in its early stages. I have a singer lined up, but if that doesn't work out, we might get a "sit-in" bassist to play shows with us while i do lead vocals and advertise our need for a singer at every show. I don't want this situation to continue for a particularly long time, as I'm not as good of a singer as I'd like the band to have doing leads, but what are your opinions on this?
Thanks

I was in a situation like that but my band thought we could find another good singer easier than another good bassist

turned out we couldnt find either, so nothing ever came of it. But my 2 cents is to stick with what you are most comfortable with and wait for somebody to come along.

And just remember, James Hetfield didn't want to sing at first too :-P

EDIT:
Ok, no bassist but still
