All I said in response was, "I'm going to be a bit too busy tonight, but thanks."

People have asked why I didn't get upset, but I had to give him a 10 on the SURREAL FACTOR, and I honestly regret not reacting more strongly to him calling my wife a B----, but he was far too much of a drunken moron for me to take seriously.

So what I did to prompt his response was have the gall to get onstage and perform Classic Rock songs.
Always ignore the drunken moron to every extent possible!

Don't even think about judging your abilities by statements from one of them.

If you'd hung around the guy a bit more, say another half-hour, he'd likely be saying you were the greatest rock star ever.

Those guys are meaningless.

Just finished our first set at a typical lakeside dive bar. There appear to be no customers in the bar at 10:40pm. Two servers, owners boyfriend, and two girls that are probably the coctail waitresses. The owner chased out 8 people who came to see us after our 3rd song because she thought one guy was too drunk to serve. He and his friends all left. He helped us load in and appeared sober. How do places like this stay in business? Not long, i guess. On a positive note, there is a stripper pole next to the stage in case things miraculously heat up later.

I was explaining to a lady I know about how someone said I "suck." She said, "well have you heard that before?"

I said, "heard that? heard it before? I've heard it THOUSANDS of times! I've had people walk right up to me and tell me!"

She was taken aback.

I went on to say, "I've also heard I'm FANTASTIC. I've heard I'm the best. I've heard I'm lucky to have talent from God."

I'm going to straight out tell you, I don't agree with those who say that any more than I agree with those who say I suck.

I'm GOOD.

There are a LOT of people who are good.

Am I great?

I'm not convinced I am.

But I am GOOD.

I've met some amazing Hoosiers; but if you ever suffer a shortage of a random angry guys who just want to fight somebody, a bar in Indiana is a pretty good place to find one.

Interesting. I've been in dozens of bands over the last 20 years, and I've not been told "you suck" by more than 3 people, all so drunk that they probably thought they were paying me a compliment.

You lead a dramatic life.

My standard reply to the guy that yells "You suck!" is to yell back "But unlike you sir, I don't swallow!!!"

Dude.

You're the BASS PLAYER.

NOBODY thinks the bass player sucks.

It is the safest position in the band.

Go out there and front a band for 20 years, doing lead vocals NAKED, and then tell me who leads a dramatic life.

Allow me to modify my comment. I've been in dozens of bands over the last 20 years, and the members of those bands have not been told "you suck" by more than three people, all so drunk they probably thought they were paying us a compliment. And I've worked with some pretty marginal singers......

Maybe it's an Indiana thing......

I had a guy tell me the other night, I love the way you play lead bass. I said "you weren't suppose to notice, I play lots of notes so some of them will be right." No one has told me I suck, they have told me I am better than I am and I just tell them the band makes me sound good but thanks.

To Mellow: Congrats on your rising popularity. That cover photo will make lots of bands jealous. Now raise your prices at your current clubs and book their less often so you can concentrate on the higher paying gigs.

Here's a vid of a song we did on the comedy show.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=7lSSVTgJvtg

We went back again last Thursday, and we will probably play there from time to time.

Playing a really cool gig tonight at a place that has THEIR OWN CLIENTELE. I am way too psyched for a guy whose first show was around 1979.

I like the clip and all that room on the stage. Looks like a cool venue.

It went really well!

Our drummer was pissed because we played Voodoo Child too long, but the crowd was loving it, and I thought we were really in sync on that one. Probably a good fifteen minutes!

Happy crowd, good sound, overall a great show!

That's great to hear.

From the clips that you've posted, your band sound very good. Awesome that you're having so much success!

Here's a video I edited of the "best of" our two performances at Snickerz comedy club.

I tried to pick only the comics I liked, and thought were funny. Of course, one of them used my band (but not me; I was eating some french fries) in his act.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9qL2...ature=youtu.be

I kind of enjoy doing this. I think we might go back again.
