I love the way everyone says, "I'm 44 but look 30". Nobody ever says, I'm only 40 but look like Keith Richard's grandfather.

When I was 40, I felt like 30. Now I'm 50 and feel 60. It's like I've aged 30 years in a single decade.

But even so, I'm still more clued-up, charismatic, witty, talented, and charming than any combination of three dozen youngsters (under 35) that you care to name. So all is right with the world. Now get off my lawn.

(Joking aside, I'm lucky enough to enjoy being able to work with some top quality young musos from time to time.)

I'm 57 but if I shave off the white beard, grow out and dye my hair and wear my single vision glasses I can pass for 56 LOL:

I did just that for a gig earlier in the year, that photo was take shortly therefter. Now if I was to loose the extra 50 lbs I could pass for 55 even . But I'm back to lookin' like "normal" - for now LOL:

I don't even consider 42 older no less old.

When I was 22 I walked in to my lesson one day after a haircut and a shave and shocked my teacher. He had thought I was in my mid 30's.

I started going grey at 18.

I play in a band where everyone is around 50. I think it's probably accurate to say we are all playing at the highest level we ever have, but it's also fair to say that we struggle remembering arrangements, learn new things slower, and play sitting down a lot more than we used to.

I'm 45 and I FEEL 30. That is all that really matters.

I wonder how old Keith Richards feels?

I have never written a real song. I am thinking about putting this age theory to the test and writing my first one.

Problem is, by the time I write it and record it, this thread will be old and forgotten.

Absolutely!!!...LOL! The only thing that has changed for me as I approach 50, is that I don't like to play real heavy basses anymore. My shoulder dosen't appreciate it anymore.

Keith Richards is proabably too stoned to know how he feels!

Age is just a number, however you won't see me playing with 20 year olds.

Sorry, it just struck me funny. First you say "Age is just a number". I agree. Then follow it with "...however you won't see me playing with 20 year olds."

I think you're referring to the maturity gap between 59 and 20, and if you are, I agree. If it's strictly the age gap....

That's what would be funny.

Me too! Sometimes I go a long time between colors and the white starts to show (I color becase my hair is hard to do anything with when it has color, when it's white, it's unmanageable). The guys at work want me to grow it out.

I told them I'd look like Gandalf (propper spelling?). They just laugh.

I guess I am lucky. Just turned 60 and don't have a gray hair on the top of my head. But when I grow a beard, it is very gray. I just shaved my
Fu Manchu style beard off a few weeks ago cause my wife said it was making me look older. I guess I am not going to grow old gracefully.

At 69, I think Keith's stoned days are long behind him.

It's the maturity gap, I really have nothing in common with a 20 year old.

Check for a pulse, you may be dead.

Cars, music, women, food, the list goes on...

Well, I guess my taste in women hasn't changed much since I was 20.

I'm a much better musician than I was 20 years ago. I just can't jump around the stage like I once did.

Like my buddy says, I can twist aggressively though
