Ok. So I'm booking our first "tour"- albeit just 4 days... But it is not only our first venture more than 2 hours on the road, it's also our first few steps out of state.
Here's the hopeful itinerary:
Wednesday, June 21 we play a kick-off show in our hometown of El Dorado, KS. Thursday we play SOMEWHERE. Friday we're playing a local festival in St. Joseph, MO. Then Saturday, we're playing at a place called The Link in St. Joseph (we'll do like half an hour on Friday and probably 60-90 minutes on Saturday). Hopefully, we can work out a coffehouse gig Saturday afternoon. Then Sunday we want to play at a church on the way back home. Back in our beds by Sunday night.
So we need a Thursday night show that's SOMEWHERE within 3 or 4 hours of Kansas City. AND we need a church that will let us play on Sunday morning (or perhaps Sunday afternoon... we just don't want to be getting home at 2 or 3 am... work comes early Monday morning).
The other factor is that I have zero budget for lodging and am trying to plan this around where I have friends and family willing to take in 4 musicians. That means Salina, Lawrence, and Kansas City, all in Kansas. Friday night in St. Jo, one of the stipulations in our contract is that they provide lodging and some food. But it does mean that playing a gig in Joplin or something would require the same from the venue (not a huge deal, just something I've had to take into account when I'm booking).
We're a Christian band, and while we're not drastically opposed to playing bars (we've all done it before), we'd prefer not to... especially on tour when we won't have time to wash the smoke smell out of clothes.
To summarize: We need a show Thursday night, June 22, and Sunday morning/afternoon, June 25. We also would like shows during the day if we can get them since we're not talking about any serious serious driving.
Any suggestions?
